Police are currently investigating a number of recent break and enter offences in Upper Mount Gravatt, Sunnybank, Coopers Plains and Parkinson areas.
Unknown offender/s have either cut the flyscreen near the locking mechanism of a door, burnt the security screen or Perspex near the locking mechanism of a door or completely removed the flyscreen from windows to gain entry.
Most of break and enter offences occurred at night while residents were home or asleep.
Police urge residents to re-assess their home security before leaving the house and going to bed. Here are some tips to help you –
Install finger guards on security doors that are not always key-locked.
Install key operated locks or security grills on windows and deadlocks on doors.
Always use your keys to lock your doors and windows even whilst at home.
Do not leave any keys in security locks on your windows or doors.
Lock internal doors from garage into the house.
Use padlocks
