Late-week activity and evening peaks

The day-of-week chart shows offending was strongest later in the week, with Thursday standing out as the busiest day. Friday and Saturday were also higher than the earlier days.

Money trap warning from Crime Stoppers

Separately, Crime Stoppers Queensland is warning people not to fall for organised crime “money traps”. A national awareness campaign launched in Brisbane on 23 July 2026 is highlighting the ways criminals may try to recruit ordinary people through fake job offers, social media messages and promises of easy money.

Crime Stoppers says warning signs can include requests to use a personal bank account, share banking details or keep the arrangement secret. The campaign is aimed in particular at protecting international students and temporary visa holders, but the message is for everyone.
